Rixort

About Rixort

The reason I set up Rixort was to completely overhaul and redesign my old site that I built over four years ago. Over the course of two years, the plans for the site grew more and more ambitious and it quickly became clear to me that the old format just wouldn't hold all the information I wanted to present.

I admit that Rixort is not the most exciting site on the Net in terms of funky graphics, and it's unlikely to win any design awards (though that would be nice). The pages can be rather text heavy, but my perception of the Net is as a medium through which to share information with everyone, after all that's why the universities warmed to the concept in the first place.

All pages should validate as correct XHTML and CSS, although I might have to rewrite some of my code because technically speaking I'm bending some of the W3C standards.

By the way, almost everything on Rixort is written by me, with the exception of comments on the weblog. If you notice any mistakes, they're entirely my fault and I take full responsibility for them. If you don't like what you see here, please offer constructive criticism on how to improve it; I'm always open to suggestions for improvements/additions to the site.

In the future...

The main thing I'm concentrating on for Rixort is adding more content to the code, security and tutorials sections. Given limited time, due to various other commitments, this is all that I can do at the moment.

However, in the not too distant future I'm looking towards adding a weblog, news feed and other fancy stuff that shows off PHP/MySQL. I'm also working on the possibility of community sites and even a network based around Rixort. When this will all take off depends on how quickly I acquire the required backend and programming knowledge and how much free time I have available.

Some things that I plan on doing in the near future if possible:
